In response to the dynamically evolving market needs and increasing demands for flexibility in production processes, Solmatic has developed and implemented an innovative hybrid device for aerosol manufacturing – a breakthrough solution within the industry. The project was carried out with the support of European Funds and aligns with key objectives of the EU cohesion policy: boosting SME innovation, supporting industrial transformation, and promoting sustainable growth.
The Hybrid Aerosol Production Machine integrates three main technologies currently used in aerosol manufacturing into a single operating platform:
- Traditional technology – with internal valve crimping
- Bag-on-Valve (BOV) technology – where a product bag is mounted on an internally crimped valve and filled after sealing, commonly used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and medical products
- PET technology – enabling the use of plastic containers, in which valves must be crimped externally due to material properties
This universal and flexible process architecture significantly simplifies the production infrastructure, reduces the number of required technological stations, and lowers implementation costs for companies offering a wide product portfolio.
The machine can be used both for industrial-scale operations (small batch production, short specialist runs) and in R&D laboratories or pilot lines. Its modular construction also allows for easy upgrading with new components or configurations, increasing its implementation potential and enabling quick adaptation to market changes or regulatory updates.
